First Night in Mexico

I am in Mexico to participate in an artist's residency in Puebla and I will be facilitating a distance learning exchange between Mexican elementary school children and my students at Centro Nueva Creación in North Philadelphia.  I arrived at my house around 7PM.  It is quaint but gorgeous, with fabulous hand painted tile work and a rooftop open air studio.  There are currently two men, four women and two cats living here.

Upon my arrival, some other artists told me they were going to La Lucha Libre, the crazy Mexican wrestling match that is more theatrical than serious.  I was familiar with the colorful masks worn by these performers and despite my jet lag I brushed my teeth and was ready to go!
