I have been scouring the Antique Market and/or holed up in the studio for the past few days. I also met a very nice man that sells used books so I've been going through cartons of his stuff. Here is the view from the studio, and some of the purchases that are influencing some new work. How nice to finally feel like an ARTIST again as opposed to a RESEARCHER!

This book has no publication date but I had to buy it because of the original binding. And it smells really old and awesome. |

A hand drawn wedding invitation from 1907
I love finding artifacts like these and I have also bought some handwritten letters and books of poetry. I will likely incorporate them with images like these that I have been taking: |
I have also been drawing fish skeletons, dead bugs, skulls, vineyards and pigs with the intention of making them into screen prints when I get home. They're not ready for you yet, though! Perhaps in a day or two I will post a preview for you. Hasta luego de Puebla!
